Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit Arrests Willis ISD Employee for Online Solicitation of a Minor
WILLIS, TX -- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit has arrested Austin Gwaltney, 27, on the charge of Online Solicitation of a Minor.
The arrest follows an investigation into a reported inappropriate relationship between Gwaltney and a 14 year old former WISD student.
Throughout the investigation, SVU detectives determined that inappropriate photographs were exchanged between Gwaltney and the minor. Detectives also confirmed that Gwaltney is employed by Willis ISD in the Information Technology Department.
Late yesterday evening, investigators executed both an arrest warrant and a search warrant at Gwaltney’s residence. Gwaltney was subsequently transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he is currently being held on a bond of $125,000.00.
This investigation is ongoing and is being conducted jointly by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
