Dr. Zubay is a board-certified neurosurgeon with fellowship training in complex spinal reconstructive surgery. He also specializes in complex brain and cerebrovascular surgery.
Dr. Zubay received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He subsequently completed his neurosurgical residency at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, where he also continued his fellowship training in spinal surgery. He completed a second fellowship with an emphasis on complex reconstructive spinal surgery at Northwestern University. These opportunities were afforded when he was honored with the Congress of Neurological Surgeons Clinical Fellowship Award in 2001.
Prior to joining Mischer Neuroscience Associates, Dr. Zubay had a successful neurosurgery practice in San Diego. His practice included 7 years covering Level 1 neurosurgical trauma. Today, his practice reflects a continued emphasis on complex brain and cerebrovascular surgery and current spinal techniques, including both minimally invasive techniques and large corrective deformity techniques.
