HOUSTON, Texas –– Pump prices in Texas and across the nation appear to be edging lower this week, according to AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.

In Texas, the current average for a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline is $3.926. That is down seven-tenths of a penny since last week. Nationally, the average price moved slightly lower to $4.067 a gallon.

“Despite record gas prices and concerns about the economy a large percentage of AAA Texas members recently polled say they still plan to take at least the same number of vacation trips this summer as they did years prior,” says AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau. “Nearly 90 percent say they’ll take at least one out-of-town summer getaway.”

The most expensive gas can be purchased in Beaumont and Dallas at $3.931 a gallon. The state's cheapest gas is in Corpus Christi at $3.887 a gallon that is a penny less than last week.
