THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Church’s Creative Christmas Eve Services have been a community tradition for the last twenty years. “It all started with 200 people twenty years ago, and this year we expect over 40,000 people to attend one of our 27 services,” said Pastor Kerry Shook, Senior Pastor of one of Houston’s largest congregations. “This has always been a Christmas tradition for the whole family to enjoy as we focus on the real meaning of Christmas, the birth of Christ,” Shook said.

The church is known for its powerful and creative Christmas Eve Services that draw attenders from all over the region every year. “We come every year, and it really helps our family make Christmas meaningful,” said Kelly Barrett, an attender in The Woodlands area. “We love the creative message and of course the carols by candlelight. My kids always run to the winter wonderland to play in the real snow,” said Barrett. “We love Christmas Eve Services at Woodlands Church. It just wouldn’t be Christmas without it,” Barrett added.

“This is a huge celebration for the whole community as we kick off our twentieth year serving the greater Houston area,” said Pastor Shook who founded the church with his wife, Chris, in 1993. “Our mission has always been to help people experience the hope of Jesus Christ and make a difference by helping the poor,” Chris Shook said. “This Christmas the church provided gifts and clothes for over 5,000 under-resourced children and their families,” she added.

The Christmas program will be performed at all services beginning Saturday, December 22 through December 24.
