ORIGINAL STORY

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Feast of Artisans Farmers’ Market will kick-off the opening of its 2013 season with a Mardi Gras celebration Wednesday, February 13, 4-8:30 p.m., at the Woodlands Mall next to Barnes & Noble.

The event will feature seasonal produce and products from local and regional sources. Mike Amabile will provide the entertainment with his versatile style from all music genres which includes Southern Rock, folk, and country.

Guest vendors, No Label Brewery and Southern Star Brewery, will provide samples of their brews, and Retreat Hill Winery will be selling their award-winning Texas wines by the glass or bottle.

Both a face painter and balloon artist will be on hand for the kids, as well as a craft project. The event is a family-friendly event for the community.

“February is the month of my birthday. I wanted to kick-off the market for the season with a celebration,” said Lorraine Richards, the market’s founder and promoter. “I can’t think of anything I would like better for my birthday than to be able to do something for a good cause, so throughout the month of February, the market will be collecting pet donations for the Montgomery County Animal Shelter,” said Richards. ”Pet food donations can be dropped off every Wednesday at the market; canned cat and dog food is especially needed.”

The market runs until early summer starting at 4 p.m. For more information about the Feast of Artisans Farmers’ Market, email Richards or visit the link provided.
