Local teen celebrates 5 years of wholesome tech product guidance with The Tech Boy

THE WOODLANDS, TX – Eighteen-year-old Myzell Moshay can easily be viewed as one of the next generation of tech geniuses. A 2024 graduate from Grace Christian Academy, this 18-year-old is already celebrating five years as the founder of TheTechBoy.org, an aggregate-style website that reviews high-tech products and services and more.
“In the middle of Covid, I was 13 years old and in the eighth grade, and since I couldn’t get a job, I decided to test out technological goods,” he told Woodlands Online. “I decided to start a blog and website, which I found was the best way to get products sent to me for testing and review.”
In the early days, he had to figure out the format quickly to gain a steady audience.
“In 2020, I started off writing about one article a month; once I got the schedule worked out, I kept building the content until we’re up to about three times a week,” he said. “I also started going into much more detail with the reviews; when starting out, I’d write about basic features. But it was important to grow with the technology.”
Within a couple of years of starting off his venture, Myzell gained a much larger audience, now averaging around 2,000 clicks a month. While he concentrates on Samsung and Android products, his co-contributor ‘MaestroMO’ specializes in testing and reviewing Apple and related iOS products. Around 2023, the looming ubiquitous spectre of artificial intelligence raised its head, and is now frequently delved into as a topic of interest on The Tech Boy.
Besides ‘merely’ a product review site, The Tech Boy is also a family-friendly Christian conservatech website, with a focus to educate consumers and technology gurus on current and futuristic technology, testing, talking about, and reviewing technology to share unbiased opinions.
Alongside the blog and website, The Tech Boy also has a YouTube channel and podcast, which both go far beyond the standard product article with relevant observations and topics. “I enjoy pushing the teen aesthetic,” Myzell told Woodlands Online. “This is a business run by teens with a largely teen audience; but it should be remembered that all ages can enjoy our content.” He points out that another topic he enjoys pushing is the ‘spy aesthetic’ with microelectronics and next-generation technology with far-reaching impacts on people, property, and privacy.
When asked where he saw the business in another five years, Myzell grew introspective.
“I’d love to have even more products to test. I have a job now so I can buy more that aren’t otherwise sent to me. And I’d love to broaden my topic base; cell phones can only take a testing site so far.”
