We’re in that sweet spot where it’s after the Independence Day holidays but before school kicks back into gear, and the temperatures are still relatively seasonal and under 100 degrees. Here are some events to have fun with!

The shelter has surpassed its maximum capacity, placing immense strain on resources and putting countless animals at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space. In response to this critical situation, MCAS is partnering with the nonprofit organization Happy Tails of MCAS-TX to host a special adoption event today, aimed at finding loving homes for as many pets as possible. This family-friendly event promises to be more than just an opportunity to adopt — it’s a celebration with a purpose. Attendees can enjoy food, games, and prizes throughout the day. From 12 - 3 p.m., James Coney Island will be serving delicious hot dogs while supplies last (limit 2 per person), so be sure to come early!
