THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Robin Hoy, account executive for ITVibes, believes perception is reality – and giving clients the best impression is key.

“The first impression is the only impression you get when potential customers are looking for your services,” Hoy explained.

Hoy will share her methods for attracting customers and increasing sales during the monthly breakfast meeting of the Montgomery County Association of Business Women (MCABW).

Her presentation, “Online Perception: Dos and Don’ts,” is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5 at the office of Dr. Arroyo, 1111 Medical Plaza Dr, Ste. 110 in The Woodlands, 77380.

“With new generation consumers’ purchasing behavior changing rapidly it’s important to understand their needs when creating an online branding and marketing strategy,” Hoy said. “It’s important to know how to say a right message to the right person at the right time on the right channel.”

Hoy is originally from Marietta, Ga. She moved to Texas in 1980 and attended Cosmetology school in Waco. In 1997, her career as a stylist brought her to Conroe, where she became a salon owner. Hoy then moved into the sales and marketing side of the industry, representing several professional companies. Eventually, she discovered her true passion was web design and social media marketing. ITVibes is a web design, search engine optimization and social media marketing company servicing small businesses in Houston.

In her talk, Hoy will discuss how business women can create effective brand messages, close more sales and be more visible to customers. She will also explain how to increase web traffic.

“As social media gains popularity and with more customers becoming web oriented, it has become crucial for businesses to have an effective online presence,” Hoy said.

Hoy has been a member of the MCABW since 2011 and serves on the event and education teams. “I love the fact that MCABW is ‘women helping women,’” she said. “I have grown personally as well as a business professional. The group is very warm and welcoming, it is truly a feeling of empowerment.”

The MCABW provides a forum for local businesswomen to support each other – both in their professional and personal lives. The group holds a mixer the second Thursday of each month as well as a monthly luncheon the fourth Tuesday of each month at Incredible Pizza in Conroe. The group also hosts a breakfast meeting on the first Tuesday of the month. Visitors are invited to attend two MCABW events before joining the organization.
