The Woodlands Marathon set for Saturday
THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Marathon will traverse the streets of Town Center and the community on a two-loop 13.1-mile flat course, finishing on the scenic Waterway on Saturday.
It is a Boston Marathon qualifier. In 2012, 78 runners qualified for the 2013 Boston Marathon. A race record was set with Jeffrey Eggleston's win of 2 hours, 15 minutes, 37 seconds. Close to 7,400 runners will be competing in this year’s event.
Friends, Family and spectators will line the streets at various cheer zones in the Village Cheer Challenge to encourage athletes along with music. Participants have the opportunity to run for charities in the Launch Charity Challenge.
The Woodlands Marathon was revived on March 3, 2012, after a 19-year hiatus.
