MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- It’s been one year since “Jazzy Junque & Other Great Stuff” became a permanent store, and what a tremendous success it has been! What started as a popular annual fundraising sale in 2009 to benefit New Danville, Jazzy Junque was transformed into a permanent storefront in August 2012 at The Outlets at Conroe located off I-45 at League Line Rd. (exit 90).

Not your typical resale store, Jazzy Junque caters to discriminating shoppers by selling donated items that are new or in good and working condition at affordable prices. Savvy shoppers can discover incredible steals on custom bedding, living room furniture, and boutique accessories, children’s toys, books, specialty collectibles, and more, sold at a fraction of what it would cost to buy new. Now that’s something to brag about!

Jazzy Junque’s reputation and convenient location are drawing shoppers from far and wide. Proceeds from the store’s sales benefit New Danville, a master-planned community for adults with mild intellectual and/or developmental disabilities as well as others who want to live independently but may need some assistance such as with transportation, money management and in-home training.

The dedication and persistence exhibited by the New Danville volunteers to make Jazzy Junque a permanent venue has not gone unrecognized. Recently, the store was named the recipient of the 2012 Outlets at Conroe’s Bill Porter Award, and also won first place in the “Windows Displays” category among 25 professional retailers at Outlets at Conroe.

“We are extremely proud of the success of Jazzy Junque,” noted Kathy Sanders, president and founder of New Danville. “As we continue, we hope to expand our store space and increase the volume of donations we receive from generous individuals who want to support New Danville.”

Jazzy Junque & Other Great Stuff is open seven days a week from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Item donations are constantly in demand and can be dropped off at Outlets of Conroe by appointment, or arranged to be picked up courtesy of Two Men And A Truck of Spring, TX (who is donating pick-up services), by contacting Linda Hein, Jazzy Junque store manager, at 936-441-4500 or via email at linda.hein@jazzyjunque.org. Donors will receive a tax write off for the value of the items donated.

Volunteers are also needed for the “Jazzy Junque & Other Great Stuff” store. As the store is exclusively manned by volunteers, those who are interested in volunteering should also contact Linda Hein. Current volunteers come from as far as Houston and Huntsville working beside those from The Woodlands, Conroe, Magnolia, and Montgomery. The store is also partially staffed by residents of New Danville, who are called “Wranglers,” providing an opportunity for them to secure employment in order to achieve their goals of becoming productive citizens.
