THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Your pets love to be out and about just as much as you do. As autumn approaches, it is the perfect time to take advantage of pet-friendly restaurants in The Woodlands and surrounding areas. If you make plans to bring your four-legged friend, it is always important to call ahead and make sure there is available room for you and your pooch- especially during prime eating hours. The following is a list of restaurants in the area that allow pets in their outdoor seating area:

1. Becks Prime at 1210 Buckthorne Place: Becks Prime mainly offers burgers, hotdogs, and sandwiches, while guaranteeing you’ll receive them fresh and fast. The Daily Meal has ranked Becks Prime “One of the Top 40 Burgers in America.” Located in the Grogan’s Mill Village Center, Becks Prime has a tree-line porch and picnic tables that make it a great location for a meal with the whole family and your four-legged friend.

2. Goose’s Acre at 21 Waterway Avenue: The Bistro & Irish Pub allows dogs on its patio. The restaurant menu includes a wide variety of options, ensuring something great for kids and even the pickiest of eaters.

3. Katz’s (Express) at 19075 I45 North: Katz’s has the perfect meal for you guaranteed. From sandwiches, to pot roast, to salad, breakfast, and cheesecake, Katz’s has it all. Pets are welcome to sit with you at the tables outside.

Pet-friendly places are very up and coming. Houston now has a list of over 30 restaurants that now welcome pets. This trend is soon going to take The Woodlands by storm. Check often to see if your favorite restaurant (with outdoor seating) is taking part. Encourage your favorite eatery to apply for a variance to Section 20-21.8 of the Houston Food Ordinance that allows pets to be in outdoor seating areas. Your pet loves a good night out on the town just as much as you do!

(Grimaldi's Pizzeria, originally featured in the story, no longer allows dogs to dine with guests.)
