THE WOODLANDS, TX – April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Awareness Month, and in Montgomery County, it has been a month of decisive action, collaboration, and powerful outcomes by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

Throughout the month, the ICAC Task Force has aggressively pursued offenders who exploit children online. This April, charges have been filed against a disturbing range of suspects, including:

  • A former board member of a foster care organization
  • Two prior convicts with non-sexual offenses
  • Three registered sex offenders
  • Two individuals who were already out on bond in Harris & Polk counties for pending child sex crime charges
  • An undocumented individual residing in the country illegally
  • A kindergarten teacher

In addition to these arrests, the ICAC Task Force successfully rescued five children from active sexual abuse, demonstrating that this work is not only about arresting predators but also about saving lives.

Beyond this single case, the ICAC Task Force has had a major operational month:

  • 39 digital evidentiary items submitted to the lab
  • Nearly 20 terabytes of data analyzed
  • Over 80 years in prison and one life sentence secured
  • Five children rescued from active abuse
  • A three-day chat sting operation targeting online offenders who attempt to lure minors

This work would not be possible without the tireless dedication of our law enforcement partners. The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office extends sincere gratitude to the following agencies for their continued collaboration and commitment to protecting children: Precinct 1 Constable’s Office, Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, Precinct 3 Constable’s Office, Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, Precinct 5 Constable’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Conroe Police Department, Magnolia Police Department, and Roman Forest Police Department.

The Montgomery County ICAC Task Force remains committed to defending the most vulnerable members of our community and will continue to lead the charge in the fight against child exploitation.

Assistant District Attorney Chris Seufert said, “Every arrest, every prosecution, and every child rescued this month underscores the relentless commitment of our team. These are not just statistics — they are the results of focused, unflinching teamwork to bring predators to justice and protect children who can’t protect themselves.”

District Attorney Brett Ligon said, “Protecting our children is not just part of our mission — it is the very heart of it. The ICAC Task Force is not just catching offenders; they are rescuing children, changing lives, and making our community safer every single day.”
