Jay Tompkins selected as 2013 Five Star Wealth Manager

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Mike Karlins, CPA of Karlins Ramey & Tompkins, LLC, is pleased to announce that Jay Tompkins, Partner and CPA was selected as a 2013 Five Star Wealth Manager in the Taxation category by Five Star Professional and the publishers of "Texas Monthly".

As a 2013 Five Star award winner, Tompkins is part of a select group of less than seven percent of wealth managers in the Houston region. "Texas Monthly" and Five Star Professional identified wealth managers in the Houston region who provide exceptional service and overall satisfaction through the nominations of clients, peers and industry experts. This is Tompkins’ fourth consecutive year to receive this recognition.

Jay Tompkins joined Karlins Ramey & Tompkins in 2007, was made partner in 2009 and named partner in 2012. His professional expertise includes partnership, corporate, individual, business state and estate/gift taxation.

Tompkins is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Construction Industry CPAs/ Consultants Association, and the Houston Chapter American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Tompkins is a graduate of Leadership Montgomery County – Class of 2012, a board member for the The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Montgomery County Better Business Bureau, a member of the Finance Committee of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and acted as the Treasurer for 2012 Leadership Montgomery County.

Jay’s involvement with the Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce includes serving as co-chair of the Young Professionals Committee, in addition to being an Affinity Committee Team Member.

Tompkins holds a Master in Professional Accounting and a BBA in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin University.
