Concert in the Park fall schedule

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Woodlands Township Parks and Recreation Department kicked off the fall 2013 Concert in the Park Series on September 8 at Northshore Park with a performance by the Josh Fuller Band. Fall concerts are held Sunday evenings, from September 15, 2013, through October 20, 2013, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Northshore Park, 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive.

The remaining fall Concert in the Park schedule is as follows:

• September 15, 2013: Hope Cassity (Country)

• September 22, 2013: Gary Michael Dahl Band (R&B/Jazz)

• October 6, 2013: Will Makar (Pop/Rock)

• October 13, 2013: Fondue Monks (Texas Funk)

• October 20, 2013: The Guppies Band (Classic Rock)

In addition to the musical entertainment, residents of all ages can participate in the new Family Fun Challenge while enjoying the concert, which will coincide with Concert in the Park series. The Family Fun Challenge will consist of sidewalk chalk competitions, a scarecrow building competition, a pumpkin hunt and more.

The Family Fun Challenges are also scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at Northshore Park:

• September 15, 1013: Go CRAZY with Corn

• September 22, 2013: 3rd Annual Family Sidewalk Chalk Competition (begins at 5 p.m.)

• October 6, 2013: 1st Annual Make Your Own Scarecrow Competition

• October 13, 2013: The Great Pumpkin Hunt

• October 20, 2013: Jack-O-Lantern Challenge

Bring a blanket, picnic dinner and lawn chairs to enjoy leisure time with your family!

Northshore Park offers plenty of lawn space for tossing balls and Frisbees®, a large playground, two sand volleyball courts and pathways. All bands are family-friendly.

Concert in the Park is produced by The Woodlands Township and presented by Physicians ER/Optimum ER (fall series sponsor), Munday Chevrolet (presenting sponsor) and Xfinity (media sponsor).
