THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- It's been a busy season of competition for The Woodlands High School Marching Band. Bands of America, BOA, is the national marching contest circuit that puts on competitions around the country under the umbrella organization of Music For All. Our TWHS Band has already participated in two stages of competition, a Regional and a Super Regional, and will complete the circuit competitions in mid-November with a third round at the Grand National event in Indianapolis.

On October 5, The Woodlands High School Marching Band competed in the Bands of America Conroe Regional Competition hosted at Woodforest Bank Stadium. In the Preliminary round, The Woodlands Band took first place out of 27 bands and received the award for Outstanding General Effect. In the Finals round, The Woodlands Marching Band received awards for Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect and became the 2013 BOA Conroe Regional Champions.

On November 2, the Band travelled to San Antonio to compete in the BOA Super Regional Competition where the Band competed against 64 other marching bands from around Texas and other parts of the country. TWHS Band advanced to Finals with 13 other groups and earned the High Visual and High General Effect awards as well as their first ever San Antonio Super Regional Championship.

This highly motivated Woodlands High School Band will travel to compete in Indianapolis at the 2013 Grand National Championships November 13-16. There will be a send-off performance for friends, family and the community on Tuesday, November 12, at 7:15 p.m. at Woodforest Bank Stadium in The Woodlands. Best of luck to TWHS Band as they continue to prepare for the national stage.
