THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The foremost silhouette artist in the world, Cindi Harwood Rose, will make an appearance at The Learning Express Toy Store of the Woodlands, Sunday, November, 24 from noon to 5.

Silhouette master Cindi Harwood Rose comes to Woodlands.

Cindi Rose, a natural born artist, discovered at 7, she could draw portraits, and do paper-cuts of objects of nature. She would do this alongside her mother, Doris Harwood, an accomplished artist. As a teen, she answered a job at Astroworld to be a portrait artist in the park. She was hired immediately, but when she saw a real silhouette artist, she fell in love with the art of paper profiling people from sight.

"I did not know that you could cut real profiles of people from paper, by looking," she stated, "The silhoeutte artist at Astroworld did this in a few minutes, but it did not look great. For some reason, I said, 'I can do that'. They tested me and had me cut the art manager who was actually from Disneyland. He liked my first attempt at silhouette cutting, and fired the current silhouette artist and proclaimed that I was now 'the silhouette girl.'"

That was 40 years ago, and since then, Cindi's work has been seen in museums, art galleries, in national and local publications, and on many international and national TV shows. The silhouettes will be $35 each person, with duplicate copies at $10 a person. Cindi is happy to talk about the history of the art and her experiences at working at both Disney parks in the United States as an artist. Children do not have to sit still. It takes about 2 minutes a person, and she will flatter adults and leave off double chins in her artwork.

Cindi Harwood Rose is the fastest silhouette artist in the history of the world. Call the store for appointments, or drop by http://Silhouettesbycindi.com
