District 8 Congressional Race: Thoughts from a voter

Fellow Voters,

With the upcoming Republican primary, we have a job to do our research on the candidates running for election. I find the congressional race here in district 8 to be one that we all need to be informed about, and vote for the candidate that will best serve us. Currently, incumbent Kevin Brady, has been the congressman for the past 16 years. He claims to keep in touch with his constituents since he flies to Washington D.C. and back every weekend, but at the expense of using tax payer dollars.

I am frustrated with the job performance that Congressman Brady has done, his record proves he’s just another politician, telling us voters what we want to hear, then voting against it. His record shows that he votes what the leadership in Congress pushes for, instead of standing up on principles, and what is in our best interest. For an example, voting six times to raise the debt ceiling, voting seven against. Seems the congressman is playing politics. Also, he’s voted for a bill that allows NSA spying, and for our computers to be monitored without a warrant. What happened to our privacy? What happened to our freedoms being protected by the constitution?

For these reasons I think it is time for Mr. Brady to be replaced. That is why I am voting for Craig McMichael, a Patriot, who served 10 years in the United States Marine Corps. Someone who runs on the values of a fiscal constitutionalist. I have heard him speak several times, including videos on YouTube. I have reviewed his website, and had a better understanding of where he stands on various issues. This candidate deserves our vote, and several Tea Party and conservative endorsements prove that this candidate is prepared for the fight. I could not be more confident with the integrity this Marine will uphold in Congress, and his devotion to stand his ground on his passion for God, the U.S., and his family. We need an average everyday patriot to serve us, not another politician. I strongly urge my fellow voters to educate themselves on Craig McMichael, and elect a Patriot into Congress.
