Cos Bar at Market Street donates $5,000 to MD Anderson Cancer Regional Care Center

THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Supporting MD Anderson Cancer Regional Care Center in The Woodlands, Cos Bar at Market Street has recently donated $5,000 from store sales during the months of January and February.

“This contribution from Cos Bar will go toward offsetting the expenses of patients at MD Anderson The Woodlands facility who are undergoing cancer treatment, such as gas, hotel costs, caregiver and childcare services, and prescriptions,” said Dr. Pamela Schlembach, Associate Professor at the University of Texas MD Anderson and member of the department of Radiation Oncologist with MD Anderson Care Center - The Woodlands, located on the campus of St. Luke’s The Woodlands Hospital. “We truly appreciate their generous support.”

Cos Bar’s founder, Lily Garfield, who serves on the Board of Visitors for MD Anderson Cancer Center, said, “I am so grateful to MD Anderson for helping me get through a very emotional time in my life during my treatment for cancer. Their entire staff is amazing from the moment you get out of your car. It is now seven years later, and there is nothing I wouldn't do for this great institution. I am very honored to be on their Board of Visitors and help them in the effort to find a cure for cancer.”

In fact, one man stopped in to shake my hand in appreciation because his wife is a breast cancer survivor. As we continue our outreach to the community, we look forward to supporting MD Anderson again next year.”
