THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Grupo Impulza, an innovative restaurant and entertainment group based in Mexico today announced they are opening one of their most recent successful concepts under the name of LA BIKINA. This will be the first location in the U.S. for the group who owns more than 84 restaurant and bar concepts throughout 24 States in Mexico during the last 10 years of successful track record. LA BIKINA’s name is tribute to the famous Mexican song that celebrates the invincible women who changed history during the revolutionary days in Mexico. The colorful, teal mosaic tiles that cover the floor are signature to LA BIKINA’s décor and are highlighted by marble top tables and traditional Mexican artwork. LA BIKINA is located in The Woodlands, minutes away from the Market Street dining and entertainment district.

The place takes you to experience an exciting sophisticated and contemporary Mexican-inspired dishes, hand-crafted margaritas and cocktails. The authentic food and fine drinks, as well as the fun will create a unique experience at La BIKINA, which will be a great option for lunch and dinner, as well as happy hour and late night. Diners will also appreciate a variety of customer promotions throughout the year, including the birthday program, which offers guests celebrating their birthday festive props and complimentary dinner for the birthday individual.

“Grupo Impulza is an innovator at creating an atmosphere that embodies food and drink the way it should be made – by hand, from scratch, with real, quality ingredients – in a fun and energetic environment, and we believe that’s exactly what locals are looking for when deciding where to eat and drink in The Woodlands,” said Omar Quesada CEO and Founder of Grupo Impulza.

The kitchen will be headed up by chef Daniel Miranda, who is a 2010 title winner of “Prime Gourmet: El Reto,” a program focused on haute cuisine where two chefs face off in a culinary battle; Mexico’s equivalent to “Iron Chef America. A graduate of the French Culinary Institute in New York City, Miranda spent some time at The Grand Havana and Spartina working the lines before returning to Mexico to serve as the sous chef for the John Gray Restaurant Group in Cancun. Two years later he was head chef at Barraca Orraca in Mexico City. In 2011, Miranda came to The Woodlands and took a position at a well-known local restaurant La Lupita as head chef.

LA BIKINA dishes will feature a fresh take on traditional and contemporary offerings, balancing slow-cooked meats and bold flavors with unique pairings and contemporary presentations. The menu includes a variety of scratch-made authentic tacos, tableside salsa and guacamole, as well as entrees including, Chamaorro, an adobe-braised pork shank, with pineapple chutney; Huachinango, fried red snapper with roasted garlic; and Pulpo a la Parrilla, grilled octopus in guajillo pepper sauce. LA BIKINA’s drink list does not fall behind their food, but rather works alongside it. The menu offers both traditional and contemporary cocktails, whether it’s in a signature Skinny Margarita or Spiced Horchata, with mango and tamarind flavors.

The restaurant seats approximately 120 people in the main dining room and patio and is located at 4223 Research Forest Blvd.
