MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- The Montgomery County Transportation Program reported that the contractor was able to make significant headway on the SH 242 overpass project this past weekend, that it won't necessitate closing the freeway for the next two weekends as originally planned.

"The complete freeway closure enabled the contractor to accomplish more than originally planned," said Vanessa Wallace with the Montgomery County Transportation Program. "The project won't require another closure until the 24th of the month."

The next major closure is planned for Friday, October 24, 11:00 p.m., through Monday, October 27, 5:00 a.m. All southbound main lanes of I-45N will be closed starting Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 pm through Monday, October 27, 2014 at 5:00 am. All southbound traffic will be diverted on the frontage road just south of Windsor Lake Blvd. through the SH 242 intersection. All traffic will be allowed to re-enter IH 45 main lanes at Wellman Road.

Law enforcement will be on site for traffic control.
