As a ten year member, and now Chair, of the State Board of Education, I know what it takes to be an effective school board member: knowledge, dedication, character, and passion for children. Melanie Bush has those characteristics plus many more so she is highly qualified to serve on the Conroe ISD school board. She cares deeply about children as evidenced by the program she leads, Women of Vision for girls at Conroe High School. This mentoring program focuses on academic and personal integrity and has motivated many young women to graduate and pursue further education. Melanie is a youth ministry leader in her church and is a dedicated mom to her two girls. Having started her own business, Melanie has knowledge and skills that will make her a strong leader on the board. She is also on top of the issues in public education and will be a team player. Please join me in voting for Melanie Bush for CISD school board, Position 1.

Barbara Cargill
Chair, State Board of Education
