Free express shuttle service for holidays starting November 22

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – In an effort to ease congestion, traffic and parking concerns in The Woodlands’ major shopping district, The Woodlands Township is launching a free express shuttle service to allow for a more convenient way for the public to enjoy the holiday season in Town Center.

Coinciding with the Lighting of the Doves Festival, the Holiday Shuttle Express will begin service on November 22, 2014, and will continue until January 4, 2015. The free service will consist of three different shuttle buses that will circulate around The Woodlands Mall, Market Street and the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, with shuttles available every 10 minutes.

The “Holiday Shuttle Express” route will have eight stops, including the Gold Parking Lot at the Pavilion, The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, Waterway Square, Market Street, and the North, South, East and West areas of the mall. These easily-identifiable vehicles will operate seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and are operated independently from the existing Waterway Trolley System.

“Residents and visitors can now park in one spot and shop, dine, and enjoy the holiday spirit throughout the Waterway, Market Street and Mall areas,” said Chris LaRue, transit program manager for The Woodlands Township. “We encourage the many employees in this area to utilize this free service as well.”
