THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Bob Milner is living the dream. Milner and his wife Teresa lived for many happy years in The Woodlands before career and life swept them off to Florida in 2001, followed by a move to Southern California. Milner and his wife fondly daydreamed about returning to sleepy South Montgomery County while he ran several Mercedes-Benz dealerships in Southern California. In 2014, Joe Agresti, CEO of Dream Motor Group, called with an opportunity to bring the Milners back to The Woodlands ASAP, to take co-ownership of a company, and build one of the finest luxury automobile facilities in the U.S.

“The Woodlands is a special place. We’ve watched it grow, and it’s just amazing how you don’t feel like you’re in an area the size of Houston when you’re in The Woodlands,” Milner said, new co-owner and managing partner of Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands. “We bought a home in Creekside Forest in December and in our little, bitty neighborhood, 20 people have already come by to introduce themselves and bring us baked goods. It’s exciting to be back home.”

Together, Agresti and his executive leadership team own Mercedes-Benz of Baton Rouge, Mercedes-Benz of Birmingham, Infiniti of Birmingham, and are building Mercedes-Benz of Music City in Nashville. The Dream Motor Group headquarters is in The Woodlands, and its new 60,000 square foot Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands dealership will open on April 18 at the corner of 242 and I-45 next to Costco. One of Milner’s first tasks is pouring through 487 resumes to hire 80 new employees in what Milner plans to be a world-class facility solely focused on the customer experience.

“We are a luxury retailer, not a car dealer: our success will be measured in that light," Milner said. "We will trip, fall and skin our knees trying to delight our customers. We are going to offer from day one the kind of luxury retail experience people have come to expect from top customer-experience organizations—just like when you’re flying first class, staying at the Four Seasons, enjoying a resort or eating at a five-star restaurant.”

Milner and Agresti have met with the executive leadership teams at the Waldorf-Astoria, the Ritz-Carlton, Virgin Air, Apple Computer, and Zappos.com to create a Mercedes-Benz of The Woodlands facility that will truly excel.

Milner plans to create a service-minded employee culture that serves The Woodlands community through participation in non-profit company efforts supporting the Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund, Texas Children’s Hospital-The Woodlands, and the local community.

“We consider ourselves servants and we feel a responsibility to give back to the community,” Milner says. “Yes, we are running a business, but our business is a gateway to serve the community and give in ways other people can’t.”
