Williams-Sonoma to host April cooking classes for adults and kids

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Williams-Sonoma at The Woodlands Mall invites cooks of all ages to sharpen their culinary skills at in-store classes throughout the month of April.

In the free Junior Chef Classes, kids learn how fun and easy cooking can be. Classes present delicious recipes, from main courses to desserts and snacks. The April schedule includes:

Saturday, April 11 at 10 a.m. LUNCH BOX LESSONS. From veggie sushi and sandwich wraps to colorful fruit kabobs, kids learn how to pack the best box lunch ever using fresh spring produce.

Saturday, April 18 at 10 a.m. DIY HOMEMADE DRINKS. Learning to make fresh fruit and vegetable drinks is a fun and healthful way to entice kids into the kitchen. Attendees learn how to whip up smoothies, juices, fruit slushies and more.

Saturday, April 25 at 10 a.m. BAKING BUNDTS. Bundt cakes are more popular than ever and kids can learn to bake one for the family. The class will make different flavors and sizes of Bundt cakes and three glazes, including vanilla, chocolate ganache and lemon. Junior Chef Classes are designed for children ages five to 15. Reservations are required at (281) 298-6915. No charge to attend. An adult must remain with the child during the classes.

Free Technique Classes for adults provide tips and techniques from Williams-Sonoma specialists. The April schedule includes:

Sunday, April 12 at 2 p.m. COOKING FROM THE SPRING FARMERS’ MARKET. With spring farmers’ markets brimming with fresh fruits and vegetables, this class showcases local produce in recipes for a seasonal soup, pasta and stir-fry.

Sunday, April 19 at 2 p.m. COFFEE – BE YOUR OWN BARISTA. This is the class for anyone who finds choices of coffees and machines bewildering. Discussion will include a variety of brewing methods from pour-over to French press and espresso. Attendees will taste coffees prepared in different machines, including the new Breville Grind Control Coffee Maker, and discover how various coffee roasts and grinds affect the finished drink.

Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m. SPRING INTO ACTION WITH VITAMIX. Williams-Sonoma has partnered with The Blender Girl Tess Masters to offer expert tips and tricks to make the most of the powerful Vitamix machine. Features preparation of recipes including soups, smoothies and nut butters.

Participants enjoy 10% savings on select same-day store purchases. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (281) 298-6915 or stopping by Williams-Sonoma. Class spaces are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to the class.

The May Cookbook Club on Wednesday, May 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. features A Girl and Her Greens by April Bloomfield. The new book explores flavorful and unique recipes with vegetables taking center stage and the class will feature recipes from the book. Cost is $75 per person and includes cooking class, copy of the cookbook and a 10% discount on purchases made after the class. Reservations required. Call (281) 298-6915.
