THE WOODLANDS, Texas - Located a quarter of a mile from Bear Branch Junior High off of FM 2978, the Santa Barbara Market has been selling remarkable pottery and unique lawn décor at an unbeatable price for the past three years.

It all started when Barbara Salinas, a native of Victoria City, Tamaulipas Mexico and Woodlands resident, wanted to open a business. With a love for plants and pots, along with her and her husband having part ownership of the ovens where the pottery is crafted, Salinas decided to open the Santa Barbara Market in October of 2012.

The market started out small, but as time progressed and the customer base began to grow, the market grew as well with more space being added on for increased inventory. After the success of the market, Salinas opened a second location featuring a smaller inventory off of Kuykendahl in The Woodlands.

When asked about the future of Santa Barbara Market, Salinas hopes the market will stay around for a while and for the Kuykendahl location to expand to the size of the original market.

“When people think about pots or landscaping, I want (Santa Barbara Market) to be the first on their minds,” said Salinas.

The unique pottery featured at the market comes in all shapes, sizes and colors. The selection ranges from fifty-gallon cylinder shaped pots, to one-gallon pots in the shape of a donkey and many more! Along with pottery, Santa Barbara Market offers a wide selection of yard décor such as yard signs, chimineas and religious yard statues. The pottery featured at the market is made of one hundred percent clay, and is crafted in Guadalajara, Mexico.

What sets Santa Barbara Market apart from major retailers is not only the unique design, but also the affordable prices. With Salinas and her husband being part owners of the production operation it allows her to sell the pottery at an unbeatable price.

Santa Barbara Market is located at 31907 FM 2978 in Magnolia, Texas and a second location, with a smaller inventory, off Kuykendahl in The Woodlands, Texas. Both locations are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
