The Woodlands Children's Museum to host Sensory Friendly Day

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – The Woodlands Children’s Museum is hosting an event exclusively for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and sensory processing differences.

Sensory Friendly Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 18. Thanks to an anonymous donation, the cost of admission has been waived for this special event that welcomes children with autism and their families.

Young guests will enjoy sensory exploration through exhibits and hands-on activities, as well as social and imaginary play, art projects and a special “cool down classroom.”

Families are invited to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the outdoor tables near the entrance to the museum. Goodie bags and take-home activities also will be provided for each child.

“This is a an ideal chance for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and sensory processing differences to have fun in a comfortable and accepting space while participating in interactive learning activities,” said Angela Colton, executive director of the museum.

Located at 4775 W. Panther Creek Drive, Suite 280, in The Woodlands, 77381, the museum has a full calendar of exciting activities. Daily Admission is $6 per person 1 year and older. There is no charge for children under 1. Recommended for ages 7 and under.
