THE WOODLANDS, TX -- As the Texas sun starts blazing, escape the heat and cool down while enjoying our hands-on exhibits, musical performances, theater productions and visits from two very famous Disney characters.

If you guessed June special events at The Woodlands Children’s Museum, you would be right!

“The museum is a nurturing and magical environment for children under age 7 and offers opportunities to spark curiosity and ignite imaginations,” stated Executive Director Angela Colton. “In addition to play, we are thrilled to offer cultural performances and magical moments that, through the eyes of a child, will last a lifetime!”

June starts off with a quack-tacular Donald Duck 90th Birthday Celebration on Friday, June 7th from 10:00am-2:00pm. Sing Happy Birthday to Donald, create your very own duck hat and capture the memory with a photo opportunity at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm.

On Friday, June 14th, get ready to sing and dance with children’s musician Will Parker during four whimsical and interactive shows at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm.

Celebrate Dad during Dads and Dinos Day on Saturday, June 15th. This roar-some event features a “dinomite” dinosaur art project, a nuts 'n bolts keychain, and energetic performances by children’s musician Juicebox Jukebox at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm. Visit and pose for photos with Ripley, the friendly Triceratops, from 2:00pm-4:00pm.

Get ready to giggle and laugh during the Books Alive! Touring Production of “Chicken Big” on Wednesday, June 19th at 10:45am and 12:00pm. Books Alive! adds music and life-size puppetry to bring just the right touch to this zany tale that celebrates the joy of acceptance. With wacky, laugh-out-loud humor and silliness to spare, this BIG twist on the classic Chicken Little story lends a whole new perspective to what it means to be a chicken.

We usher out June with our popular Fairy Day on Thursday, June 20th and Saturday, June 22nd from 10:00am-2:00pm. Celebrate with face painting and a magical visit from Tinkerbell who will pose for photos at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Children are invited to create their own fairy wings and enjoy special readings at 11:00am of “Camilla the Cupcake Fairy” by Tim Bugbird and at 1:00pm delight in “Backyard Fairies” by Phoebe Wahl.

During the month of June, the Muse Art Bar presents a new process-oriented project every day and is often assisted by volunteers from our community.

“A variety of art materials will be used to create a multicolored paper mosaic bird and an ocean animal silhouette using oil pastels on paper,” stated the museum’s Art Coordinator, Lauren Gonzales. Both of these projects compliment Storybook Theatre readings that are presented on Fridays at 11:00am.

All events are included in the price of admission, which is $9 for adults and children 1 year and older. We welcome all guests with new summer hours on Tuesday-Friday 9:30am-4:00pm, and continue with our Saturday hours of 10:00am-5:00pm while remaining closed on Sundays and Mondays. Pre-purchasing tickets is highly recommended by visiting our website at www.woodlandschildrensmuseum.org/event-tickets.
