THE WOODLANDS, Texas — Sandy Petermann-Williams, an independent Realtor with RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring, and her dancing partner, Aaron Lumpkin, the owner of Affinity Ballroom The Woodlands, claimed first place at the recent South Montgomery County YMCA 4th Annual Dancing for a CAUSE with The Woodlands Stars fundraising event.

Held on April 7 at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel & Convention Center, the event raised more than $60,000 for the YMCA’s Annual Campaign, which helps make community-strengthening Y programs like swim lessons, after-school care and youth sports available to anyone regardless of age, income or background.

“The YMCA is such an incredible organization and I was so excited to ‘kick up my heels’ and exceed my fundraising goal of $10,000” said Petermann-Williams, whose efforts raised $14,000 for the campaign. “I love giving back to the community and felt honored to be chosen to represent RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring at the event.“

Dancing to The Rolling Stones’ “Honky Tonk Woman,” Petermann-Williams and Lumpkin were among 11 community star/Affinity Ballroom professional dancer couples who joined forces to help raise funds for the program through online voting.

“I am so proud of our agents, who are always ready to pitch in when an opportunity arises to help the community,” said Danna Furnace-Grimes, Director of Agent Services and Relocation Director at RE/MAX The Woodlands & Spring. “Sandy’s commitment to everything she takes on – whether helping clients buy or sell a home or ballroom dancing – is a testament to her dedication to the community.”
