Montgomery County Sheriff's Office join forces to judge local law enforcement competition

THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- Law enforcement personnel from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office along with Houston Police Department, Baytown Police Department and Spring Independent School District recently met at Spring High School to judge The SkillsUSA law enforcement competition.

SkillsUSA is a partnership between students, teachers and industry - all working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce. SkillsUSA helps each student excel by providing educational programs, events and competitions that support career and technical education (CTE) in the nation’s classrooms.

The competition involved high school students from the Greater Houston area and covered traffic stops, building clearing and crime scene processing. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office personnel judged over 40 felony and misdemeanor traffic stop scenarios.

Of the high schools and students participating were Pasadena, Klein, Nimitz, Spring, Humble, Baytown, and various schools from Houston ISD.
