MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas -- While they may not have been victorious this year, the Republican team's energy and spirit were on fire.
"In Texas we know how to play baseball," said Congressman Kevin Brady (TX-08). "Baseball is the greatest sport, period. I have played it since I was a little kid. I have played it through high school and college. Texas is a great state for baseball."
Brady played second base and his game day jersey, designed specifically for the game, was in honor of the 45th Anniversary of Lone Star College and their exceptional veterans program.
The Democrats beat the Republicans 21-5.
"At the end of the day, Congressional Baseball is more than a game -- it is a chance to set aside politics for a few hours and show the nation that more unites us than divides us.”
