THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Independence Day was a bit of a washout, but it's a new week with new things to do. Here's our Top 5 choices. Keep in mind we try to include events that appeal to a wide range of folks, spread out over several days. If you're looking for summer camps for the kids, please visit our Woodlands Online Summer Camp Guide.

They're back! You can't say you didn't miss the Chick-fil-A in Magnolia while they were closed for renovations, am I right? They're open for business again, and invite you to break out your spots and cowbells Tuesday July 10 for Cow Appreciation Day. Make or buy a cow costume, show up between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m., and receive a free entrée – made from chicken, of course. Check it out at 6543 FM 1488 in Magnolia, or at The Woodlands location, 1660 Lake Woodlands Drive.

Courtney Patton, an Americana, country folk singer from Gransbury, will be live with Kyle Hutton Wednesday July 11 at Dosey Doe-The Big Barn. Patton is said to be a "storyteller" with her deep and soulful music, which she belts out with her unique "Texas twang." She'll be joined by Kyle Hutton, another native Texan climbing his way up the country music charts. Tickets are $15. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. (grab some dinner – Dosey Doe's Ginormous Chicken Fried Streak has a reputation all its own) and the show begins at 8 p.m. Get your tickets here.

Taking something to-go is on an entirely different level at GenuWine, 6503 FM 1488. Have a glass of wine or bubbles, then take a glass home with you at the Wine Glass Painting Event, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday July 12. You get a wine glass, smock, guided painting from a pro, and a glass of wine or bubbles. $35 per person or $50 for a set of two. Call 832- 934-2675 (CORK) for more info.

The Woodlands Children's Museum is celebrating its 8-year birthday Friday July 13. There's an entire scope of activities planned from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., including crafts, singing, cake, an appearance by fairy tale princess Rapunzel, stories, clowns and more. Check out all of the details here.

Take your little princess or prince out for a fun evening at a Dive In movie Saturday July 14 at Cranebrook pool, 11800 Cranebrook Drive. The animated, musical adventure "Leap" begins at 8:15 p.m. Take a break from the Texas heat, cool your heels – whatever floats your boat - while enjoying a family friendly movie. $5 per person, children 3 and under free, and free for season pass holders.
