THE WOODLANDS, Texas— Friday night at Woodforest saw the final game of the 2018 regular season featuring the Oak Ridge War Eagles and Conroe Tigers. With both teams out of playoff contention, Friday’s game between the two rivals was arguably for bragging rights. Oak Ridge put up their most impressive scoring output of the year, winning 73-14.

Oak Ridge’s senior quarterback Blaine Romero has been lighting up District 15-6A at the tail end of the season, ranking in the top three in passing yards and touchdowns. With Romero leading the offense, the War Eagles have been able to produce huge numbers on the scoreboard. Oak Ridge’s 77 points follow last week’s 56-35 rout of Klein.

Conroe, with a high-powered offense of their own, were able to score stride for stride with Oak Ridge early in the first half. The Tigers 14 points would all come in the first quarter.

Senior night for the War Eagles ends with their largest margin of victory of the season. Coach Dereck Rush will have multiple starters on both sides of the ball returning next year. Oak Ridge ends their season 5-5, with a 4-4 record in district play.
