THE WOODLANDS, Texas-- The third-place Highlanders travel across town Friday, Jan. 11 for their first of two matchups with rival College Park. The Woodlands, coming off a 20-point victory over Oak Ridge, currently sit 5-2 in District 15-6A.

College Park will look for their second straight win on Friday after a 61-56 win at Conroe. Seniors Cam Noel and Mark Henderson have picked up the scoring for the Cavaliers after All-American and leading scorer Quentin Grimes left for Kansas. Clifton McNeely’s Cavaliers have won 2 out of 3 games in 2019 after starting the season 8-14.

The Woodlands also lost their all-time leading scorer with Romello Wilbert graduating to go play for the University of Incarnate Word. Coach Dale Reed has turned to his seniors for this season with five returning from last years lineup.

The first rematch from last year’s district co-champions will be held at College Park High School Friday, Jan. 11 at 7:00 pm.
