THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- The Howard Hughes Corporation® (NYSE: HHC) is pleased to announce that its Houston area communities — The Woodlands®, the recently launched The Woodlands Hills® and Bridgeland®, northwest Houston’s premier community — will embark on a spring of giving, beginning March 1 through April 30. For each home purchased during this period at one of the award-winning communities, The Howard Hughes Corporation will donate $1,000 on behalf of the buyer to one of the following charities: Montgomery County Community Foundation, YES to Youth, Cy-Hope, Cy-Fair Educational Foundation and Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

$1,000 Will Be Donated to Charity of Choice Per Every Home Sold During March and April

Since its inception, The Howard Hughes Corporation has been an active philanthropist in the Greater Houston region, donating annually to over 130 non-profit organizations. Community-focused philanthropy is a guiding principle in the company’s corporate social responsibility program, HHCares. Supporting neighborhoods through charitable giving and volunteerism, The Howard Hughes Corporation encourages not only its subsidiaries and its employees, but also the residents within its communities to give back and develop active relationships with charities like those selected to benefit from the spring giving campaign.

“At Howard Hughes, we are dedicated to improving the life of our communities and each donation will help a nonprofit organization increase its funding of worthwhile causes,” said Heath Melton, Vice President of MPC Residential for The Howard Hughes Corporation. “By incentivizing our homebuyers with the opportunity for $1,000 to be donated to a charitable organization of their choice, we hope to encourage continued philanthropy and volunteerism throughout Bridgeland, The Woodlands and The Woodlands Hills.”

The selected charities are representative of notable local causes within each community. In close proximity to The Woodlands and The Woodlands Hills, the Montgomery County Community Foundation acts as a steward of charitable donations to area endowment funds, projects and donor-requested recipients. YES to Youth provides Montgomery County youths with crisis counseling, shelter programs, and prevention services.

Within Cypress, Bridgeland has an existing partnership with Cy-Hope through its annual, heavily-attended Nature Fest, and with Cy-Fair Educational Foundation. Cy-Hope is a local organization dedicated to bringing hope and opportunity to every child in the Cy-Fair area, while the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation seeks to raise funds to increase college access for graduates and instructional support for teachers of Cy-Fair ISD.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a nationally-recognized organization which will also function as a recipient of The Howard Hughes Corporation’s spring giving campaign, with LLS funds going towards the research for blood cancer cures and improving quality of life for patients and affected families.
