THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Margo McZeal as its new director of government relations. McZeal will manage The Chamber’s Business Advocacy and Transportation Education Councils and serve as a liaison for governmental affairs with elected officials, county governments, the South Montgomery County delegation, the Texas State Legislature, and community groups. Additionally, she will lead The Chamber’s election year activities, Young Professionals Network and Economic Outlook Conference.

“I’m excited to expand on the 40-year legacy of The Woodlands Area Chamber and its dedicated focus on advocating for the business community,” McZeal said. “One of the greatest attractions of The Chamber is its ability to bring people together, adding even greater value for its members.”

McZeal comes to The Chamber with experience leading marketing efforts for organizations in the nonprofit, medical, education, and oil and gas industries, including Gyrodata, Inc. and Spring Independent School District.

She is active in several community leadership roles, including serving on the public relations committee of the Houston Chapter National Urban League Young Professionals. She is a member of the Black Public Relations Society, Sigma Gamma Mu Honor Society and National Association of University Women.

A native of Louisiana, she created Girls and Guys Rock Louisiana, an adult and youth empowerment organization that honors individuals for their stewardship in the community. She earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations with a minor in business administration from the University of Louisiana and a Master of Public Administration with an emphasis in government and policy from Grand Canyon University.

“We are particularly pleased to have Margo join our team and anticipate that this addition will continue our solid reputation of advocacy for the business community,” Chamber President and CEO J.J. Hollie said. “Margo brings the expertise and passion to create an excellent fit for The Chamber and the community.”
