The Woodlands Area EDP Luncheon Guests Hear from Gordy Bunch, Chairman of the Board for The Woodlands Township

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership (EDP) held their Quarterly Partner Luncheon at The Woodlands Resort & Conference Center on Tuesday, May 7, 2019. Over 110 partners and guests heard from Gordy Bunch, Chairman of The Woodlands Township Board of Directors with a special presentation, “The State of The Township.”

Chairman Bunch provided a financial snapshot of their 2019 operating budget and reviewed The Woodlands Township’s 2018 accomplishments, residential survey, the incorporation process, economic initiatives, and tourism efforts led by Visit The Woodlands.

For the past thirteen years, the EDP has held their luncheons for Partners in order to keep them informed of important issues facing businesses today. Past topics have included Economic Development, Regionalism, State of Education, Law Enforcement Update, Center for Houston’s Future Scenarios 2040, Anadarko’s Current and Future Projects, State Economic Development and Tourism, Banking Executives Update, Life Science Update, State of our Economy, Local Tourism and Healthcare.

Gil Staley, CEO of The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership, said, “We received many favorable comments from our Partners and guests on the State of the Township. As the lead economic development organization in The Woodlands area, we are thankful for the unmatched quality of life that our businesses and residents enjoy. The EDP is keenly aware that a strong community government is vital to our success of growing jobs and capital investment. It was obvious from Chairman Bunch’s presentation that our future is bright.”
