The Woodlands Family YMCA held another successful Kids Triathlon
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- YMCA held its annual Kids Triathlon presented by Texas Childrenās Hospital The Woodlands at the Branch Crossing location last Saturday. This yearās event was their most successful race in terms of participants and dollars raised. A total of 294 athletes raised $20,000 for the YMCA Annual Campaign.
The heat and humidity didnāt stop the kids from having a fun time while swimming, biking, and running. The 6-9 age groupās course featured a 50-meter swim, a 1-mile bike, and a 400-meter run. The 10-12 age group swam 100 meters, biked two miles, and finished with an 800-meter run.
Jacob Hayes was the fastest male competitor in the 6-9 age group with a time of 7:12.8, while Nikki Harrypersad led the female division at 7:53.6. The fastest male in the 10-12 was Ilen Menon, he clocked in at 11:25.4. Stoya Laydevantās time of 10:50.2 took home first place in the female group.
Roxanne Davis, Community Liaison for The Woodlands YMCA, was pleased with the event.
