The Woodlands Youth Jazz to Host Auditions for 2019-2020 Inaugural Season

THE WOODLANDS, TX - The Woodlands Youth Jazz, an all-area jazz ensemble and improvisation training program for high school students, will be hosting auditions for the 2019-2020 inaugural season this Saturday, August 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.in the Glenn Performing Arts Center at the John Cooper School. Students can get more information about auditions and sign up for an audition time on The Woodlands Youth Jazz audition website. All interested young musicians are encouraged to audition!

The Woodlands Youth Jazz is a program designed to expand student’s ability to become creative music makers. Through weekly improvisation workshops and intensive, high-level ensemble playing, members of The Woodlands Youth Jazz will build skills allowing them to develop their abilities as jazz musicians and leaders in their school community. The Woodlands Youth Jazz is a one year commitment made up of two semesters - fall and spring. Each semester includes 14 sessions (Sundays from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m) and one side-by-side concert with The Woodlands Jazz Orchestra, North Houston's first professional jazz ensemble. All sessions and concerts will take place in the Glenn Performing Arts Center at the John Cooper School.
