Update on Research Forest repair

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- 4:30pm Update on Research Forest repair: Contractors will be on site starting tomorrow (9/26) to repair a 30-inch water line under the eastbound lanes of Research Forest Drive. The westbound lanes continue to stay open. Contractors plan to be on site for approximately three weeks. Traffic control will remain in the area for the duration of the project.

We regret the immense inconvenience this has caused and are working diligently with our contractors to get the water line up and running and the road repaired as safely and as quickly as possible.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area. Alternative routes include Woodlands Parkway, Lake Woodlands Drive, Texas 242, and FM 1488.

SJRA continues to work closely with Montgomery County Precinct 3 and the Montgomery County Constable’s Office. The Woodlands is not anticipated to have any interruption of water service during the process. Businesses are not expected to be significantly impacted as this section of Research Forest Drive has no direct entry sites or driveways that are obstructed.
