MONTGOMERY COUNTY, TX - Families in Splendora and Cleveland are still struggling to find assistance after Imelda devastated the region.

For many in the region, they lost everything during the floods. Items, such as clothing, furniture and food have been in short supply for the residents of Splendora and Cleveland. For those able to donate such items, New Beginnings Baptist Church, located at 16715 Main St., Splendora, TX 77372 is still accepting donations.

You can also visit the Splendora Volunteer Angels Facebook page to find out more information on who still needs assistance.

Below are just a few accounts of those needing assistance in the Splendora/Cleveland region:

• A family of five has set up camp outside their home in a tent.
• A family of 10, including a pregnant woman, have been loaned a camper for the time being, but have lost everything and did not have flood insurance.
• A Vietnam War Veteran, who is a triple amputee, received over four feet of water in his home and needs demolition and reconstruction assistance, as well as food and clothing.
• A gentleman, known as Mr. William, is in need of a camper or something of that nature. He finally finished renovations after Harvey and his home flooded again, with over seven feet of water. He lost everything, again. He also lost two dogs and his pet turtle.

There are also several apartment complexes, who house single moms and elderly residents, who are in need of much assistance. Residents of Pineridge Plaza in Cleveland and Porter Place Apartments in Porter have been left without much.
