THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Empire Communities is marking three years of home sales in Texas, expanding rapidly into three Texas markets and gaining industry accolades along the way.

The Canadian-based builder opened eight new model homes in Texas this year, giving Empire Communities a presence in 29 communities across the state.

James Miller, Regional President of Empire’s Texas Homebuilding Division, said it is a far cry from beginning home sales in just one Houston-area development in 2016.

“To have a foothold in 29 Texas communities after just three years is beyond our initial expectations,” Miller said. “And this rapid growth will continue into 2020 as we continue to gain market share through the opening of 13 new model homes.”

Helping solidify Empire’s presence in Central Texas was the 2018 acquisition of Centerra Homes, which at the time of acquisition built in 12 Austin-area communities and two in San Antonio.

Today, Empire Communities offers homes in 13 Austin-area developments and four communities in the San Antonio region, including five Central Texas communities where the builder started sales this year — Double Eagle Ranch, Potranco, Blanco Vista, Kallison Ranch and Cibolo Canyons in the San Antonio area.

In Houston, Empire builds in 12 communities, including one inside Loop 610 and another in the Westchase area. This year, Empire Communities launched home sales in Harper’s Preserve in Conroe, Lago Mar in Texas City and Fulbrook on Fulshear Creek in Fulshear. Empire also opened a new model home in Dellrose, the builder’s first Texas community.

“One of the things we are very proud of is the wide range of home designs we offer,” Miller said. “This is particularly apparent in Houston where you’ll find urban-styled townhomes, comfortable single-family designs and acreage estate homes.”

Empire’s home designs have gained notice with both home buyers and industry professionals, which have earned the builder a number of awards for its floor plans and interior design. This year, Empire Communities won seven Star Awards by the Texas Association of Builders, including Construction Manager of the Year, Best Product Design and Best Interior Merchandising. The awards spanned categories for homes priced below $250,000 to more than $600,000.

Empire Communities is celebrating 26 years in homebuilding, having built more than 17,000 new homes and condominiums in Canada and the U.S.
