Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital Welcomes Neurosurgeon Fernando Silva, MD

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital welcomes Dr. Fernando Silva as the newest member of its comprehensive neurosciences team.

Silva is an established neurosurgeon and spine surgery expert with more than 20 years of experience and is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

Originally from Nicaragua, Silva was raised in Southern California and is fluent in Spanish.

He received his medical degree from the University of California San Diego School of Medicine and completed a neurology residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota; and a neurosurgery residency at Loma Linda University in San Bernardino, California.

“It humbles me to know that I’ve been given a gift and a responsibility to help others. Seeing my patients live healthier and happier lives is very rewarding,” said Silva.

Silva’s clinical expertise includes: minimally invasive spine surgery, degenerative spine surgery, adult deformity surgery and scoliosis surgery.
Before relocating to The Woodlands, Silva worked most recently in Beaumont, Texas.
Outside of work, Silva enjoys sports-related hobbies including running, swimming and tennis. He also loves to travel.
