CONROE, TX -- On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, in the 435th District Court with Judge Patty Maginnis presiding, Charles Moore was sentenced to eighty (80) years in prison, for four second degree felony charges of Promotion of Child Pornography. The maximum sentence for each charge is twenty years confinement, and Judge Maginnis granted the State's Motion for Cumulative Sentences.

In August of 2019, in Conroe, Texas, Defendant Charles Moore, 45, was arrested for Promotion of Child Pornography. Detective J. Serratt with Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable's Office began an investigation in an online chatroom. The investigation led to the defendant sending 4 images of child pornography, which he created, to the undercover officer. During the course of the investigation a child victim was identified and rescued. Pct. 1 Constable's Office along with the Montgomery County Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) team which is an arm of the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce, the Tomball Police Department, Conroe Police Department, and Department of Homeland Security worked quickly to identify and apprehend the suspect within hours of the images being sent to the undercover officer.

Assistant District Attorney Laura Bond: 'Detective Serratt, Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable's Office, along with the ICAC team worked quickly to prevent further sexual exploitation of a child. The devotion and commitment displayed by the ICAC Taskforce is commendable.'

District Attorney Brett Ligon: 'Montgomery County Law Enforcement and our office continue to aggressively fight against the sexual exploitation of children. Offenders like Charles Moore should expect to spend a very long time in prison.'
