Texas DPS Seeks Public's Help in Fatal Hit-And-Run in Spring

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is asking for help from the public in the investigation of a fatal hit-and-run crash that resulted in the death of a pedestrian on Sawdust Rd, east of Sawmill Road. The crash occurred sometime between 7:00 p.m., Tuesday February 4, and 7:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 5.

Preliminary investigation indicates an unknown vehicle was likely traveling east on Sawdust Rd when it stuck Daryl Wayne Strong, 66, of Houston, Texas. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

Strong was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital The Woodlands on February 5 in critical condition, and February 16, he was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
