All Lone Star College Facilities will be closed through April 6th

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The health and safety of the LSC community is always our top priority. We are taking a proactive and prudent approach to contingency plans that will protect our community while providing the least disruption possible to our students and employees.

All Lone Star College facilities will be closed March 18 - April 6.

Below is a list of important dates (please keep in mind these dates are subject to change):

Monday, March 23

Online classes that started prior to Spring Break will resume.
Monday, March 23-April 6

Faculty convert classes to online where feasible. Students will be notified about the status of their class, either online or face to face, prior to April 10th.
Monday, April 6-13

Finalize plans for restart.
Monday, April 13

All remaining classes resume.
All LSC employees return to campus.
All Eight-week classes begin.
Wednesday, April 15

Fall Registration starts.
Monday, May 11

Mini-semester starts-(online only).
Friday, May 22

Spring Semester ends (original date as May 10).
Faculty completing classes before this date may submit grades.
Eight-week classes end.
Monday, June 1

First Summer Term begins.

Brief overview of coronavirus
The Centers for Disease Control is responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) coronavirus that was first detected in China and which has now been detected in more than 100 locations internationally, including in the United States. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).

What LSC is doing
The LSC Department of Emergency Preparedness in coordination with the Chancellor’s Office, the LSC Police Department and the LSC Office of General Counsel is working with local, state and national authorities on a daily basis. We remind all our students, and faculty and staff members to remain aware and vigilant as this situation evolves.

Avoid close contact with others
Stay home if you’re sick
Cover coughs and sneezes
Clean and disinfect
