WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Congressman Kevin Brady released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced that a new community-based testing site will open in Houston on March 20:

“This new community-based testing site in Houston will drastically increase the number of Texans who can get tested. The best part is, this facility will be run by our local Texas authorities and health officials who know what’s best for our community needs.

“Thanks to rapid response from President Trump and the Administration, as well as state and local government officials, we are making positive strides to bring testing to all Americans, and we look forward to announcing more community-based testing sites in the near future.”

Background:

A Community-Based Testing Site will be launching in Houston on March 20th at Butler Stadium, 13755 S Main St, Houston, TX 77035. The site location was selected in close partnership with state public health officials and will be run by local authorities. The community-based test sites will be operated by state and local officials with support from the federal government. Consult with state public health authorities to confirm who is eligible to be tested at this site. Individuals going to be tested should bring identification and their insurance card, if applicable.
