America’s ER Selected by MCHD and MCPH to Test Residents for Coronavirus

THE WOODLANDS, TX - On May 7th, America’s ER was selected and contracted by the Montgomery County Hospital District (MCHD) and the Montgomery County Public Health District (MCPHD) to provide COVID-19 testing for up to 12,000 Montgomery county residents at America’s ER’s drive-through testing facilities. Funded through grants from the C.A.R.E.S. Act and the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, MCHD’s and MCPHD’s funding will pay for some of the testing fees associated with America’s ER’s PCR swab testing for both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients. MCHD and MCPHD will administer this program through a voucher-based system which patients can apply for by contacting the MCHD/MCPHD COVID-19 hotline at (936) 523-5040. Once received, the voucher can be redeemed for PCR swab testing at America’s ER’s drive-through COVID-19 testing facility located at WoodsEdge Community Church on Gosling Road.

To date, America’s ER has not received financial assistance from any local, state, or federal agencies making these funds the first of its kind for America’s ER in their quest to test as many people as possible for COVID-19 to help public health departments get a better understanding of the virus’ impact in our communities. For insured patients participating in the MCHD/MCPHD program, remaining testing fees not covered by the voucher will be paid for by their insurance company with zero out-of-pocket costs for the patient. For those without insurance, America’s ER will accept the voucher as the total payment for PCR swab testing. MCHD’s/MCPHD’s voucher program does not currently apply to antibody blood tests and any additional testing will be charged our usual rates. America’s ER & Urgent Care Centers is a privately-owned, fully integrated network of medical facilities comprised of accredited free-standing emergency rooms licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), 24-hour urgent care centers, outpatient diagnostic imaging departments with advanced imaging modalities including MRI, CT and ultrasound accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR), and outpatient laboratory departments certified by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) which serve regulate laboratory testing by requiring them to be certified by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

MCPHD & MCHD PCR Swab Test Vouchers:

- 12,000 PCR swab test vouchers are available.
- Testing at America’s ER is available for people who are symptomatic as well as asymptomatic. No appointment necessary. - Please drive up and follow the posted signs.
- Must be a resident of Montgomery County.
- Must present a voucher at time of testing.
- Only one voucher per client – no repeat testing.
- Voucher will expire 5 days after issue date. Please use within 5 days.

How to obtain a voucher:

1) Call 936-523-5040 to speak with a paramedic about your symptoms. You can still be tested if you do not have symptoms.
2) Fill out a form over the phone or e-mail.
3) Print or download e-mailed voucher to your smartphone.
4) Drive up to America’s ER testing site located at WoodsEdge Community Church and present your voucher. No appointment necessary. Please drive up and follow the posted signs.
