The Woodlands Fire Department Respond to fire at Metropark Square Development

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- Just before 10 am The Woodlands Fire Department responded to a reported building fire at I-45 and Metropark Dr at the Metropark Square development. First arriving units reported a fire involving energized electrical equipment at the back of a strip center. Units reported several small explosions as they secured the area and began evacuating the strip center. Firefighters also located and treated a male patient who suffered significant injuries after coming in contact with the electrical equipment. He was subsequently transported to hospital by MCHD. Fire crews used dry chemical extinguishers to knock the bulk of the fire down. Once Entergy workers arrived on scene and secured the power source firefighters completed final extinguishment. TWFD was assisted by Needham Fire as well as the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office and Shenandoah PD.
