The Woodlands Fire Department takes action after recent storm sets several structures ablaze

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- The Woodlands Fire Department was busy this afternoon responding to several structures struck by lightning this afternoon. The most significant incident was just before 6pm, when a lightning strike ignited a fire in the attic of home on Etonshire Court in Shenandoah. First arriving companies initially made an interior attack but were forced to switch to an exterior, defensive attack as the fire progressed and the structure became unstable. After the bulk of the fire was extinguished, crews re-entered and completed extinguishment.
