Hand & Stone takes the extra step to keep clients safe while re-invigorating them
THE WOODLANDS, TX -- To say 2020 has been a stressful year would be an understatement. As we continue to look for solutions to current problems, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has quickly become the answer for clients looking to relax and escape from the stresses of life.
In a time where many people are hesitant to patronize businesses, Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has experienced a surge in appointments throughout the Houston area, including the two locations in The Woodlands.
Hand & Stone franchisee Brittany Rodgers was able to explain why Hand & Stone locations have been successful since businesses re-opened after COVID-19 lockdowns.
“We’ve been in the community since 2012, we’ve made a name for ourselves,” said Rodgers. “Our customers and our members feel safe with the policies and procedures that we’ve put in place. So, when COVID happened, I think they kept the faith and knew we would continue to bring them these services in a very thoughtful and safe way.”
The polices and procedures that Hand & Stone put in place are based on feedback from clients. Nearly 7,000 surveys were conducted to understand the expectations of returning clients, said Rodgers. Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa used those responses to craft a Spa Sanitation and Illness Prevention Course for all employees.
“When we were getting ready to come back, we required all employees to take a mandatory two-hour course, so they can understand the level of sanitation they were coming back to,” said Rodgers.
After employees passed the online course, they had to pass in-person assessments testing them on skills such as hand washing, sanitary disposal, front desk and room sanitation, and more.
Employee safety is just as important for a business to run efficiently. If employees feel at risk, they can’t be expected to perform to the best of their abilities. Customers have faith in Hand & Stone to continue to provide a memorable experience because employees have faith in Hand & Stone to treat them with care and respect.
“I’ve heard our employees say it’s really refreshing to return to work and feel safe doing so,” said Rodgers. “We’ve brought back every employee that was with us before the pandemic, and we’ve actually added staff and will continue to add staff, which is exciting.”
Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa require all employees and customers to wear masks, as well as, be pre-screened before each shift or visit. The front desk, session rooms, and restrooms are constantly sanitized throughout the day with EPA-approved, hospital-grade disinfectants.
For an added level of safety, Hand & Stone asks customers to check-in for appointments from their car. When the spa is ready for the customer, they are escorted directly to their private room to begin the session. After the session, all linens are discarded. Hand & Stone also utilizes online forms and contact-lite transactions to ensure customers and employees are in the safest environment possible.
Hand & Stone’s safety procedures put everyone at ease, which allows customers to truly escape from the anxiety and stress of the world and enter into a state of peace and tranquility.
At Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa, customers can choose from a wide range of services that offer high-quality care for everyone’s needs. Eight different types of massages are available, from Swedish massages, signature Hot Stone or Himalayan Salt Stone massages, to more specific modalities like sports massages and Kinesiology Therapeutic taping, oncology, and prenatal massages.
Hand & Stone is also known for its exceptional facials, especially its popular Dermalinfusion treatment.
“It’s essentially microdermabrasion at its core,” said Rodgers. “But it also infuses a custom, very specific serum for your skin throughout the facial, while also extracting dead skin cells from your face.”
The facials are also popular because of their affordability.
“It’s an amazing service that we’re able to offer at an affordable level,” said Rodgers. “In the past, you could only receive these services at a dermatologist or plastic surgeon’s office, which could be quite pricey, so our clients appreciate that they can come in and afford services that they really need.”
The Nature’s Massage offered by Hand & Stone is very much a fan favorite. It’s a Himalayan Salt Stone Massage with CBD to take the stress and anxiety relief to a new level.
“In the massage world, our Himalayan CBD massage is bar none, our clients absolutely rave about it,” said Rodgers. “What’s really cool about the Himalayan is that there are 84 minerals that are naturally absorbed throughout the massage from the stone into the body and it’s really great for stress and anxiety. Add the CBD in there and its a wonderful combination.”
I had the opportunity to experience the Nature’s Massage at the Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa located on Research Forest in The Woodlands. All of the previously described safety procedures were in place, making me feel very secure. My massage therapist, Gina, was very informative and made the massage room feel like a calming sanctuary.
Throughout the session, Gina was sure to check on me, making sure I was okay with the pressure, the temperature of the heated table, etc. She even explained the benefits and reasoning behind certain techniques to give me a full understanding of the Nature’s Massage.
I can see why this massage is so popular with Hand & Stone customers. Every second of the session was enjoyable. It truly felt as if all of my stress was melting away. I felt relaxed and rejuvenated from head to toe. My body felt lighter and my skin felt smoother afterward. Hand & Stone strives to create a memorable experience for every customer and I can attest to their remarkable ability to do just that.
I would recommend this treatment, and Hand & Stone as a whole, to anyone looking to escape reality and enter a world of tranquility.
Hand & Stone offers new customers an introductory massage or facial at the discounted member’s price of $59.95. Hand & Stone’s membership program, known as the Lifestyle Program, provides clients with great benefits to make their spa experience even more enjoyable.
“It’s month to month, so you can decide when to start, stop, or pause it, it’s very flexible so our clients love that,” said Rodgers. “Members get a major discount on additional services, and at $59.95 a month, you automatically get a massage or facial prepaid for you.” Members also get perks such as guest passes and discounts on retail products.
